Meet the team

Caroline Fouts

Co-President

Caroline is graduating from Sacred Heart Greenwich Greenwich, CT in 2024. Currently co-president of Turning Pages, Caroline has worked with Turning pages since 2014. She enjoys sourcing books, by holding book drives, so the children can have a many books to chose from. Caroline also enjoys teaching about mental toughness by reading books to younger members of her community

Caroline’s commitment to service was recognized in 2022 when she earned her Congressional Gold Medal. In addition, she has been a annual recipient of the Presidential Award for public service since 2018. Caroline is also a internationally ranked squash player and is participating in pro- tournament around the world.

Brian karle

Co-President

Brian is graduating from the King School in Stamford, CT, in 2024. Currently co-president of Turning Pages, Brian has worked with Turning Pages since 2014. He always looks forward to listening to the children's interests at book fairs and helping them choose a book he knows they will love. Brian also enjoys working with young people during Project Music as a Music Instructor and Reading Tutor. 

Brian’s commitment to service was recognized in 2022 when he earned his Congressional Gold Medal and each year since 2018 as a Presidential Award for public service recipient. Also, Brian is a nationally ranked rower and all-state trombonist. 

Forrest Fischer

Development Officer / Fundraiser

Forrest is a junior at the King School in Stamford, CT and will graduate in 2024. He joined Turning Pages in the summer of 2022, volunteering at several book fairs, and was immediately drawn to the foundation’s mission of helping young readers find a selection of books based on their interests. Watching the children’s eyes light up at every cover and walking away with beaming smiles and an arm full of books has been a source of pride and joy for Forrest since joining Turning Pages. Forrest is excited to help the fundraising initiative this year to replenish the inventory, and to get back out there this summer to connect more deserving young readers with books and smiles to go. Outside of Turning Pages, Forrest rowed Varsity Crew at King School for three years. He enjoys strength training, reading, playing chess, and spending time with his family.

Brodie will graduate from Ridgefield High School, CT, in 2024. Brodie was inspired to join Turning Pages in the summer of 2022 as he has been an avid reader since he was young, being a book club member for many years. Brodie is responsible for organizing donations and the collection of books. He aims to get as many books into kids' hands as possible to grow their love of reading. Aside from Turning Pages, Brodie is an avid soccer player and plays for A.C. Connecticut, the state's top-ranked team. In addition, Brodie also loves to volunteer his time coaching youth soccer with the local town program. Brodie's hobbies include playing guitar, piano, and golf.

Ignacio Brina

Donations Coordinator

Ignacio Brina will graduate from Ridgefield High School, Ridgefield, CT. in 2024. He is committed to Turning Pages' mission believing access to books is a fundamental right that should be available to everyone. As the Donations Coordinator, Ignacio is responsible for organizing book drives, collecting books from donors, and sorting and distributing them to those in need. He loves to see children's smiles when receiving books. Additionally, Ignacio has competed in football and rugby at the all-state level and is a coach for a 5th–6th grade RBA basketball team.

Sabrina Serpa-smith

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Director

Sabrina is graduating from the Wooster School in Danbury, Connecticut, in 2024. Sabrina joined Turning Pages over the summer of 2022 and helped volunteer at all six book fairs they held. She is passionate about educating people on the issue of illiteracy in minority and low-income communities. Sabrina organizes book drives and collects donations from people in her community. She also encourages multiculturally diverse books to be donated and plans fundraisers whose proceeds go towards purchasing these books. Sabrina is also the leader of Wooster’s Debate Club, and Amnesty International Club, a member of the Equity, Justice, and Inclusion Club, a guitarist in the Contemporary Improv Ensemble, and assistant captain of the Ice Hockey team.

William diana

Event Coordinator

William will graduate from Ridgefield High School, CT, in 2024. He has been a member of Turning Pages since 2021. Due to joining the team during the Covid-19 pandemic, William has spent his time creating read-aloud videos and virtually reading books to kids to share his love for reading. William is currently pursuing his Congressional Silver Award and earned the 2020-2021 President's Volunteer Service Award. His hobbies include soccer, volleyball, piano, guitar, and programming, and he will be co-running the Scott's Ridge Middle School coding club starting in the fall of 2021.

Isabel Nardis

Multimedia Specialist

Isabella Nardis is graduating from Sacred Heart Greenwich, CT in 2024. Isabella has loved reading and writing since she was a child, so Turning Pages’ mission is extremely special to her. To help spread the message, Isabella specializes in video-making and exercises her leadership skills from experience on the student council at her school. Isabella also enjoys volunteering at book fairs.
